New owners. No more plastic forks and plates. No sytofoam cups. And the food is way better now.
Literally the most authentic and delicious thai food. tasted so good especially after a long hike in Joshua Tree. I have been to JT 3 times and i have also been here 3 times... speaks for itself !
Came to this spot after Joshua Tree National Park. Good balanced food and good flavor. Good location and ambiance is good.
Try: Pad Thai, Tum Yum Soup, and Bean Thread Salad. Why: After a long day of driving to Joshua Tree we were craving Thai food and this hit the spot. Solid Thai cuisine for a happy belly before bed. Bean Thread Salad was refreshing and had pork and shrimp. Tom Yum Soup was good with large chunks of mushroom and tomato with a few pieces of shrimp. Pad Thai was my favorite as it was flavorful and a large portion. Notes: We came for dinner on the Friday after Thanksgiving so didn't know what to expect from a wait time perspective. Well, the wait was extremely long (1 hr+) as there was one person in front working. She did everything from taking orders, serving food, cleaning tables, and answering the phone. She seemed stressed but also seemed to have chaotic fun. She had to navigate the long line for take out orders and dine in orders. All tables were full and there were 5+ groups waiting to order take out, on top of taking phone orders. I'll be honest, when I walked in and saw dine-in customers eating on plastic-ware it did make me pause, but it was a solid dining experience and worth the wait.
Lunch time passing thru 29 Palms. Ordered Pad See Ew noodles with shrimp and N1 Pad Thai with chicken. Large shrimp with the Pad See Ew, nice plate-like to have broccoli cooked, almost raw. The Pad Thai did not have that peanut presence in flavor or presence. Service was good and bathrooms were clean.
